In preparation for an upcoming episode of the podcast, I want to include here an article that was published by William D. Edwards, Wesley J. Gabel, and Floyd E. Hosmer in the March 21, 1986 issue of the Journal of the Medical Association.
The article is titled, “On the Physical Death of Jesus Christ,” and is a fascinating look at the medical effects of crucifixion in the first-century Roman World. It’s a fascinating, if slightly disturbing view of what was one of the most brutal execution methods man has ever devised.
